Goalkeeper Retention Policy

 

GOAL KEEPER RETENTION POLICY - 11 PLAYERS ASIDE
 

SCOPE

This policy is to encourage and promote players in both the Development and Competitive Leagues to assume the role of keeper on a part time or full time basis.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The Club will refund the equivalent of one (1) CUSC registration membership fee (not including the OSA registration fee and the competitive supplement cost) for up to two (2) players selected to be part time or full time keepers for a team up to a maximum of $145.

2.0 SELECTION CRITERIA

To qualify players must:

  1. Be selected by the team officials based on their ability to become keepers;
  2. Be committed to attend games and practices on a regular base; and
  3. In the case of Development League goalkeepers, participate (at their own cost) in the Intro Goal Keeper Program consisting of three (3) to five (5) sessions as approved by the CUSC Board of Directors; or
  4. In the case of Competitive League goal keepers, participate (at their own cost) in the Complete Goal Keeper Program consisting of ten (10) to fifteen (15) sessions as approved by the CUSC Board of Directors.

3.0 REIMBURSEMENT

The team coach will include with the year-end report submitted to the CUSC Administrator, the name of the players who assumed the role of keeper throughout the season. The coach’s report will include confirmation from the Goal Keeper Program director the attendance by the player, and the total number of games played by the team and the number of games the player assumed the role of keeper.

A cheque in proportion to the attendance will be issued to the player(s) for the reimbursement of the CUSC portion of the registration fee less both the OSA registration fee and competitive supplement cost when applicable.
